| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 9, 2007 CONTACT: Cindy Hickey, Public Relations 330-489-1212 cindy.hickey@csauh.com Mercy Sponsors Free Medicare Fair In August Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center is sponsoring a free Medicare Fair on Tues., Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Mercy Medical Office Building Auditorium, Lower Level. The event is free to the public, and no reservations are required. The fair will feature Medicare Advantage Plan representatives and information from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, The Health Plan – Hometown Region, Humana Insurance Company, Medical Mutual, SummaCare Health Plan and United HealthCare. Those who attend the event can also speak with Terri Gursky, Mercy’s Medicare Education Specialist. The Medicare annual coordination election period will begin on Nov. 15, 2007. At that time, individuals can select a Medicare Advantage Plan, which provides “one-stop shopping” for all Medicare benefits. Mercy’s Medicare Fair allows individuals to explore their options and ask questions prior to the election period. “Because so many companies offer plans, Mercy wants to make it easier for enrollees to choose,” said Terri. Medicare enrollees can also schedule one-on-one sessions with Terri to discuss Medicare and prescription plan coverage. “During a scheduled one-on-one, I can help enrollees determine which plan is the most cost-effective for their situation,” she said. “If they bring in their prescription names and dosages, I can also review those options.” Mercy will offer an additional Medicare Fair on Tues., Sept. 25. For more information about the Mercy Medicare Fair or to set up a one-on-one session, call the Mercy Healthcare Connection at (330) 489-1333.
