Mercy Medical Center’s Health & Fitness Program Announces Fall Class Schedules

North Canton, Ohio: Established in 1983, Mercy Medical Center's Health & Fitness Program extends the benefits of physical fitness to non-traditional exercisers, including people with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, pulmonary disease and other chronic conditions. An impressive array of health professionals, all with degrees and advanced certifications, help each member develop an individualized fitness program.

Programs scheduled for fall 2007 include Cardio Kickboxing with Dan Schoenberg, a second degree black belt and Silver Medal winner at the 2002 USAKF International Competition; Yoga to achieve calmness as well as physical strength, flexibility and harmony; Yoga for Runners designed to emphasize lengthening and strengthening the legs, feet and hips; Pilates to increase “core” strength; and Arthritis Water Exercise Classes ideal for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness.
 
All classes are held at the Mercy Health & Fitness Center located at 6200 Whipple Avenue in North Canton.  Dates, times and fees for Mercy’s fitness classes are listed below:

  • Yoga: Saturdays from Sept. 8 - 29; 9 – 10:15 a.m.; $40 per person
  • Yoga for Runners: Tuesdays beginning Sept. 11; 5:30 – 6:45 p.m.; $60 per person ($50 per person when registering before Sept. 8)
  • Kickboxing Self-Defense: Mondays from Sept. 10 – Oct. 1; 7 – 8 p.m.; $40 per person
  • Tai Chi: Saturdays from Sept. 8 – 29; 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.; $40 per person
  • Pilates:  Mondays from Sept. 10 – Oct. 1; 6 – 7 p.m.; $20 for members, $28 for non-members
  • Arthritis Water Exercise Classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 11 – Oct. 18; 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; $36 for members, $45 for non-members
